Boy Names?

I was up early this morning and couldn’t sleep. I decided I should do something productive: think of baby names! Lauren is our current, soon-to-be bumped “baby”.  For several reasons, Lauren’s name was originally going to be Mercie Grace. Our family’s verse the year I was pregnant with her was Micah 6:8: “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” To act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God was our family’s focus that year! I already loved the name Mercie anyway, but it made me smile every time the kids and I recited our family verse (“to love mercy”). Of course we loved Mercie as she grew and developed inside of me! Not God’s intention with the verse, I am sure, but it gave me a little giggle nonetheless.

Also, we read many books together that year such as The Monk and the Merchant (a Dave Ramsey recommended book, fascinating read!!!!) and Tales of the Kingdom by David and Karen Mains (an allegorical children’s book/compares with Pilgrims Progress and the Chronicles of Narnia). In the “Tales of the Kingdom” books, Mercie, was Caretaker’s wife. She took in the imperfect children that the Enchanter had had thrown into the garbage heap. She loved them all!  Although not a main character in the series, she stole this momma’s heart!  I chose the spelling, M-E-R-C-I-E, in honor of the character.
Lauren’s name was changed a couple of weeks before her birth when David suggested that we might want to name her in honor of my father, Larry. What daughter could say no to that? Her name ended up being Lauren Mercie-Grace.
Now that you know how I think, what should this new little guy’s name be? This year has included a move to a new town, making new friends and leaving my beloved homeschool group behind, when faced with a trial I wrestled with my faith in a big way (no worries! I’m fine), and a new baby on the way (life has a way of going on, doesn’t it?). I have Jonah and Titus James (thanks, Jalanda!) on the list.  James is my favorite book of the bible! I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of it before.  And, baby boy’s name doesn’t have to come from the bible.  What are your suggestions?
