My water broke a few short hours after my last post.

After 2 hours and 45 minutes of the easiest labor I’ve ever experienced, Silas James McKeen was born.  Here are a few snapshots of  our first week.

Two midwives and an apprentice attended our birth. In this picture, they are weighing Silas for the first time.  He weighed 10 lb. and was 21 inches long.  He is my biggest baby yet!  11357187_10204371166989819_1082539176909636262_o

After the excitement was over, Daddy held Silas for the first time.

David took over homeschooling those next few days.  As I sat holding Silas, I couldn’t help but chuckle at the chaos.
